Dr. James Deck has been a forensic psychologist with the Barrington Psychiatric Center (BPC) since 1988. Over the years, Dr. Deck has conducted both plaintiff and defendant evaluations in personal injury. Additionally, he has served as an expert in cases involving fitness for duty, long-term disability, workers’ compensation, psychiatric disorders due to medical conditions as well as victims of violence, robbery and stalking.
Dr. Deck has trained psychologists in conducting disability and treatment evaluations and treated patients presenting with wide-ranging clinical disorders and syndromes, such as affective disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and clinical disorders related to assorted medical conditions.
A fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, Dr. Deck is also a diplomate with the American Board of Forensic Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties-Disabilities Evaluation. Additionally, he is a qualified medical examiner with the Industrial Medical Council of California.
Dr. Deck received his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) and previously taught psychology at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
